Conclusion
According to all of my resaerch and investagating on this ghost story. I believe that the Lady of the Lake is not true as a ghost, but the story behind the ghost seems to be true. Maybe a very long time ago the Lady of the Lake might have been true, but only the the people of White Rock Lake and the family of the young lady that lost her life. I say this only because sometimes after tramatic events, close friends and loved ones of the victum find ways to keep their lost loved ones with them. The Lady of the Lake could have just been a greeving loved one seeing the what they lost, but only in their head. That having a chian reaction of some kind, and then its called a ghost story. All in all that is just my oppinion and there is no factual evidance to supporte my guesses. So think what you want to think about the Lady of the Lake, but I think she is just another made up ghost story to scare the little kids on Halloween. BOO

Evidence
Aside from the that we have no real proof of being true or not, the only other proof of there being a ghost on White Rock Lake is a team of ghost busters. A man by the name of Buck and his ghost buster friends Sionnan and Lisa, Got the EMF Gaggets and went to White Rock Lake to see if they could pick up any ghostly activity in the area, all they got were a few medium spikes on there EMF toys. Closes to the area where the young lady drove the car into the lake had a reading between 8 and 10 on the EMF scanner, thats what the ghost busters call a (special range), also a spike in the field happened near an old tree just off the lake. Oddly enough when the busters went to the Ladies grave site the readings on the scanner were at their lowiest. They did not Know what was making their EMF field spike like that so they chopped it up to all the dead people in the lake, seeing how at least a dozen or so people have comitted suicide in that lake. Dead bodeis dumped trash and God knows what els is in White Rock Lake, and have we yet to prove this story to true, or to be just that, a story.

Stories
This ghost story has a couple diffrent ways of telling itselfs, but there are a few details in each way the story is told that are the same. For example the young lady is about the same age, she is in her early 20s. This young lady also has blond hair and is always seen in a white dress. The Lady of the Lake is found hitchiking on the very same intersection that she was pernouced dead in the lake, and she does not wounder far from it. In one veriation of the story, a ghost of a woman in a white evening gown drinched in water and her so called "bootlegger man friend" were on his boat one evening. During the evening they got into a severe argument and when the boat docked the young lady took the mans car and started to drive around the probably intoxicated. At the intersection of Lawther drive and Garland road she lost control, the car pluching into the lake. Now every year on the anniversery of her death the young lady will hitch-hike along Garland road where it passes the lake. When a car stops to shelp the young lady in a white dress she gives them an address and gets in the car. When the person in the car turns to ask for more directions the lady is gone leaving only a wet place were she sat. Other Stories say that the Lady of the Lake hitch-hikes every night not just on the anniversery of her death.

The dead people in the lake are from the suicides and dumped bodies that build up over the years in the lake. Yet have we proven this story to be just that, a story.
Proposal
The Lady of the Lake was a ghost story told to me not to long ago, by a friend of my mother. This being basicly the only ghost story around, about, in, or even under texas that I know, I will tell it to you... On one 1943 July night, on White Rock Lake there was a young couple out on their boat having a nice time. A blond young women in her 20s wearing a white evening drees, gets off the boat when it docks. In a rage the young women gets in her boyfriends car and starts to drive home in a hurry. The roads around the lake are dark and the young lady looses control of the car turning it into the water. The young lady drownds and is never to be herd from again, Or is she? It is said that every night the Lady of the Lake; in her white gown dripping wet, will try and find a ride home. Every now and then a nice couple or who ever has room in their car will offer the lady a ride and when they turn to ask her for directions she is gone frome the car, leaving only a wet spot where she sat. Aventually when the kind people get to the address given to them by the lady, the man that answers the door claims to be the girls father and tells the people of her death. This friend of mine that told me this story; who you will learn the name of later, said that her father told her this ghost story, and his father told the story to him. I am betting its just a ghost storry past generation to genertation to scare little kids, like all ghost stories.
